FAQ's
How do I get started with RUCKUS REWARDS? Download the RUCKUS REWARDS app on your iPhone or Android. Click register, fill out all of the information, and you're set! In order to check in to events, you must complete all of the information fields.
Do I have to be a University of Cincinnati student to participate? Yes, you must be a currently enrolled UC student to participate in RUCKUS REWARDS. You will be required to show your UC ID when picking up rewards. Graduate students and satellite campus students are also eligible to participate.
How do I check in at an event? When you attend a UC Athletics or other specially designated campus event, simply open your RUCKUS Rewards app, click on the events button, select your event, and click "Check in to this event." The check in time will be noted on the event page. You must have location services enabled to check in.
Which games will I earn points for attending? You will earn points for every UC Athletics home game. The number of points you will receive is noted on the event page.
How do I earn “Xavier Priority” points? Each season that our Men’s Basketball team hosts Xavier at Fifth Third Arena, free student tickets are awarded based on a priority points system. This year, RUCKUS REWARDS will serve as that priority points system. Look for events that are tagged “Xavier,” which will include all home Men’s Basketball games before the Xavier game, and make sure to attend those events to earn “Xavier Priority” points. On the “leaderboard” page, you will see a full leaderboard and a “Xavier Priority” leaderboard. You will always know where you to stand in the rankings. This leaderboard will update every night at 3 AM. More information on the specific process for claiming your Xavier ticket will be available once the season begins. You will want to make sure you’re in the top 1500 on the “Xavier Priority” leaderboard!
I don't get service at some UC Athletics events. How can I get my points for attending those games? The RUCKUS REWARDS app will track all attempted check ins, even if the connection fails. At Football and Men’s Basketball games, we will utilize ticket scan data to verify your attendance at the event. Please note that it will take several days for your points to be automatically added to your account, so there is no reason to be alarmed if you don’t instantly see the change in your point total. Hint: even if you cannot attend a game, if you give your ticket to a friend you will still get credit for attending the game. Do not let your ticket go to waste!
What are “Fight to the Finish” points? For all home football games, we will have a fourth quarter check in called “Fight to the Finish.” When the fourth quarter starts, open your RUCKUS REWARDS app and check in to the “Fight to the Finish” event and you will receive an additional 15 points for attending the game and staying all the way to the end. At the University of Cincinnati, we Fight to the Finish and Never Give In! Our student-athletes do their best, so we do the rest!
Can I claim my tickets through the RUCKUS REWARDS app? Yes. Select the “TICKETS” module and you will be able to login to your UC Student Tickets account. You will be able to purchase season tickets, claim one of the 2,000 free tickets that become available 10 days before a home football game, or claim your monthly Mini Pack of men’s basketball tickets. Remember, all other UC Athletics events are free to students!
What are “Bring the Ruckus” games? “Bring the Ruckus” games have been designated especially meaningful by the UC Athletics Marketing Staff. You will receive double points for attending these events, and that total will be reflected on the event page. If we’re playing for a championship, you might even see triple points games! We will do our best to notify you when these opportunities for double or triple points become available.
I claimed a reward from the prize store, now what? Once you claim a prize, our system administrators will be notified and you will receive an email informing you of the date and time of the next prize distribution day. You must present your UC ID to pick up your prize and your RUCKUS REWARDS profile must be filled out completely. You will be asked to sign for your prize. If you claim an exclusive experience prize, we will reach out to you directly to coordinate the specific details of your experience.
If I spend points in the Prize Store, does it affect my standings in the leaderboard? No. You will see how many points you have available to spend when you are in the Prize Store module, and points will be subtracted from that total as you redeem prizes. Your leaderboard points, including your Xavier Priority points, are cumulative and will continue to add up throughout the 2016-2017 year.
Can I pick up rewards for a friend? No, you may only pick up your own rewards.
Is the Prize Store final or will there be new items added throughout the year? There are no guarantees, but our goal is to continue adding local discounts, special prizes and exclusive experiences throughout the year. I’ve noticed that I can get points for attending non-athletics events on campus. How do I get my event included in RUCKUS REWARDS? UC Athletics and The Ruckus want to be a great partner to groups all throughout our incredible campus. As a blanket policy, we will assign five points for any non-athletics event listed in the RUCKUS REWARDS app. Whether or not a non-athletics event is listed in the app is at the discretion of the UC Athletics Marketing Staff. If you would like your non-athletics event listed on RUCKUS REWARDS, please email us at gobearcats@uc.edu.
Do I get points for sharing my check ins on social media? Yes, you will receive one point each time you share your check in at a RUCKUS REWARDS event.
Do my points reset every year? Yes! Every year on July 1 your points will reset.
Do I have to have a smart phone in order to participate? You can only participate if you download the RUCKUS REWARDS app on your mobile phone.
What is the “FAN CAM?” “FAN CAM” will operate almost like our own Bearcats themed Snapchat filter. Take a picture, use our Bearcats emojis, and then send to your friends or post on social media to show your Bearcats pride. Do you have an emoji you’d like to add to the image library? Email it to us as a .PNG, gobearcats@uc.edu.
What are “OFFERS?” We will work with our local partners to bring exclusive offers, such as discounts on food, to the “offers” module. Stay tuned! If there’s an exceptionally great offer added, don’t worry, we will send you a push notification to make sure that you know about it.

I got an email telling me that my account had suspicious activity and will be monitored. Why? Our system is able to point out users that are possibly attempting to cheat the system. RUCKUS REWARDS is meant primarily to reward students for their attendance at athletics and other campus events. If you are trying to earn points without actually attending or staying at the event, we reserve the right to revoke your points. We understand that you may not be able to stay for an entire game, but if you check in and leave we will be notified.
When and where can I redeem my prizes? You must have your entire profile filled out and you MUST present a valid student ID in order to receive your prize. Find the marketing tent located at gate entrances to receive your prize.
